Bar Mitzvah Poem - An Example
Dear Joanne,
Joanne Rosie Goldstein,
What a doll, so true.
Lovely bat mitzvah girl,
A dream in all she’ll do.
I was Joanne’s nanny,
From her birth ‘til she was 8.
And every day I’ve known her,
I’ll say she sure is great.
Charming, blonde, athletic,
She’s into basketball and soccer, too.
Loves dogs, especially Winnie,
Her Labradoodle-doo.
Right from the start, dear Joanne
Was a darling in many ways.
All our adventures together,
The memories can still amaze.
At 7 months old, we took her
On a trip to Bristol – beach and sun.
Joanne squealed with joy in the sand and surf,
It really was such fun.
At 18 months the family
Took off for England, you know.
That’s where Joanne met my mum and dad,
So glad we all got to go.
And just 2 weeks ago,
On Shabbos, playing a game,
Joanne talked like a redneck,
Causing laughter is her claim to fame.
I’ll never forget, before she was born,
We all played at naming the new child.
Hieronymous Hercules Goldstein...and Bubba
Were our favorite names...just wild.
At my wedding to Joshua,
Our flower child was a star.
Joanne Rosie, so adorable,
Her golden aura travels far.
Joanne’s soul is kind and gentle,
Right away she embraced my Joshua.
She’s all about warmth and love,
That’s why this day is such a thrill.
The entire Goldstein clan,
Starting with mom and dad,
And brothers Jon and Gerry,
Always make you feel so glad.
Joanne’s wise beyond her years,
Gorgeous and sweet with no ends,
She has so many wonderful pals,
Including Cynthia and Abby, best friends.
She wants to visit Australia with her mum,
But Costa Rica will be just fine.
She misses Papa Joe,
But having Grandma Sarah here is sublime.
This celebration is so special,
‘Cause bat mitzvah Girl Joanne Rose
Is just a living wonder,
From her head down to her toes.
So take it from nanny Nancy,
And husband Joshua as well,
All our best to darling Joanne,
We love you – you’re just swell!
